We invite applications from outstanding and self-motivated researchers to work on intermittency management of solar photovoltaic generation through distributed energy storage systems (DESS). Candidates should have experience with power system modelling, simulation and control. Specifically we are looking for expertise in the design of simulation models and control algorithms for DESS to realize advanced grid applications such as intermittency management, frequency regulation, and peak shaving etc. Candidate should have a keen interest in doing cutting edge research on smart grids with renewable generation and energy storage. Other research activities may include participating in research discussion with local industries and partners, overseas universities and research centres and writing reports as required by Energy Market Authority (EMA) and National Research Foundation (NRF) of Singapore.

Requirements:

• PhD degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Expert knowledge in power system modelling and control, energy storage and renewable generation systems.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Strong analytical and conceptual abilities.

• Able to work independently and in a team to realize proposed research work.

• Able to publish conference/journal papers and commit at least 1 year of your time in the project.

Benefits:

Salary is from SGD 4000 to SGD 5000 and commensurable with research background and work experience.
